Student Assistant – Evidence & Learning (m/f/d)

The position is based within the "International Cooperation" Division of the GRC General Secretariat and is assigned to the Team "Strategic Engagement".

The incumbent will support the digitalization of projects and programmes initiatives of the Evidence and Learning Unit.

The position is planned for one year and ideally starts on 1st September 2026. The working hours are up to 19 hours per week.

Main duties & responsibilities:

The role involves supporting staff members in the Evidence and Learning Unit. Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in Data and Knowledge Management initiatives for the Division
  • Support the Development of Multi-Sectoral Results Frameworks (MSRF)
  • Support the Development of Sector-specific Quality Measurement Processes and Tools
  • Support the Roll-out of the “Project Management App” within the Division
  • Assist in Review and Learning Exercises
  • Assist in the conduct of Evidence and Learning Calls

Required Competencies & Skills:

  • Currently enrolled student in Humanitarian Aid, Social Sciences, International Relations or a comparable field of study
  • Interest in humanitarian aid topics, particularly project management, learning and digitalization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong data and analysis skills
  • Excellent English skills; German is an asset
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly and independently familiarize self with new and complex topics
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Prior knowledge of humanitarian aid topics (e.g., gained through internships) is an asset
  • Work experience with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (e.g., as a volunteer) is an asset
  • Prior knowledge of programme and project management is an asset
  • Experience with data and data visualization software is an asset
