Wir suchen zum Einsatz in der Leitstelle des DRK-Suchdienstes (Team 22) im Generalsekretariat des DRK e.V. in Berlin 3 Sachbearbeitungen (m/w/d) für die Internationale Suche.
Die Vollzeit-Stellenangebote bestehen ab dem 01.08.2023 und sind zunächst auf zwei Jahre befristet. Eine Verlängerung wird angestrebt.
Der DRK-Suchdienst unterstützt von bewaffneten Konflikten, Flucht, Vertreibung, Migration und Katastrophen betroffene Menschen bei der Suche nach vermissten Angehörigen und bei der Familienzusammenführung. Bei seiner Aufgabenerfüllung arbeitet der DRK-Suchdienst eng mit dem Suchdienstnetzwerk der Internationalen Rotkreuz- und Rothalbmondbewegung zusammen.
Der DRK-Suchdienst wird institutionell vom Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat gefördert.

3 International Tracing Case Workers (m/f/d)
The German Red Cross (GRC) is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the largest humanitarian network in the world. In our work both internationally and at home, the GRC is committed to the seven principles of the Red Cross: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
Working in the GRC National Headquarters in Berlin, you will help shape the future direction of the DRK e.V. as a national Red Cross society and umbrella organisation of non-statutory welfare organisations. Every day, you will support GRC’s work providing comprehensive aid for people in conflict situations, disasters and health or social emergency situations, solely based on their level of need.
For the Tracing Service Head Office (Team 22) in the General Secretariat of the German Red Cross (GRC) in Berlin, we are looking for 3 International Tracing Case Workers (m/f/d) as of August 1, 2023. The positions are initially limited to two years. An extension will be sought.
The GRC Tracing Service supports people affected by armed conflicts, flight, displacement, migration and disasters in the search for missing relatives and in family reunification. In carrying out its tasks, the GRC Tracing Service works closely with the Restoring Family Links Network of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The GRC Tracing Service is institutionally funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs.
Main tasks:
• Processing tracing requests of persons who have lost contact with their relatives due to armed conflicts, flight, displacement, migration and disasters. • Telephone and personal counselling of people who are missing a family member as well as professional accompaniment of the GRC Tracing Service support centres at the level of the GRC regional and district branches in carrying out their counselling activities • Case-related cooperation with external institutions and authorities in Germany • Correspondence with the International Committee of the Red Cross and with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies worldwide
Requirements:
• University degree or comparable skills and experience • Identification with the humanitarian goals of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement • Good knowledge of countries of origin relevant to the target groups, flight-specific conflict factors and escape routes of persons seeking protection • Understanding of the different living situations of persons seeking protection in Germany • Empathy and interest in the concerns of the target groups of the GRC Tracing Service • Intercultural competence and the ability to move forward in difficult counselling situations on a case-by-case basis in accordance with needs • Good command of written and spoken German and English, other languages would be an advantage • High level of commitment; independent, systematic and precise way of working • Team and communication skills as well as organisational talent • Proficient in the use of common information and communication technology
